What does a life as Quality Surveyor look like?
A quantity surveyor is a professional who manages the costs of construction and civil engineering projects. They are responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with a construction project by analysing construction plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine the quantities of materials required and calculate the corresponding costs.
In addition to costing a building at all stages, a quantity surveyor also ensures that each project meets legal and quality standards. They work on a construction project from the very start, liaising with the client and their contractors during the contract process by engaging in preliminary cost analysis. Once work begins, they oversee the ongoing costs of the project and evaluate ways to improve the client’s investment.
