Facilities Manager
Location: Maidstone – Office Based in Turkey Mill Business Park
Salary up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience, plus £4,000 car allowance
Contract: Full time – Permanent, 42.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday

This role will work alongside our client - Kent & Medway Mental Health Trust – you will manage Mears’s delivery of facilities services to a unique portfolio of properties across Kent.
About the Role
We are seeking experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Hard FM services, ensuring buildings are maintained to the highest standards. This role involves managing compliance, health and safety, planned and reactive maintenance, and leading operational teams to deliver exceptional service. You’ll work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and contribute to continuous improvement across all aspects of facilities management.
Duties
Work comfortably with KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations
Monitor, evaluate, and control the use of sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure effective and compliant delivery of PPM, reactive, and lifecycle services
Monitor, evaluate, and control internal labour and resources to ensure compliant service delivery.
Support the mobilisation and integration of new contracts, ensuring smooth operational delivery across all sites.
Ensure all contractual obligations and service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
Participate in the branch call-out rota where required.
Provide specialist input across FM contracts, including support with bids and tenders.
Support wider operational management, including providing cover for other managers and contributing to service planning and development
Coordinate and assist with the production of reports including monthly performance reports, lifecycle condition surveys, and ad-hoc project documentation.
Attend meetings, training sessions, and development activities to maintain compliance, knowledge, and professional standards (including toolbox talks, one-to-ones, and reviews).
Role Criteria
Willingness to travel regularly across multiple sites
Full UK driving licence
Strong understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance within a facilities management environment.
Proven people management experience
Experience managing services across multiple sites
Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
Trade background and/or relevant qualifications.
Proven experience working within facilities management.
Experience managing healthcare or NHS contracts.
Experience working within specialist or secure mental health environments.
