With 30 years of delivering market-leading repairs, refurbishment, fire safety and building maintenance services, Mears is trusted to deliver in excess of 6,000 housing repairs daily to a portfolio of more than 1,000,000 homes nationwide.
About the role:
The role involves carrying out a range of maintenance and repair tasks within tenanted properties, including replacing doors and wooden flooring, as well as undertaking general maintenance on wooden components. The successful candidate will also be expected to perform minor plumbing tasks, patch plastering, and tiling. Holding a certified core trade, they will be capable of delivering additional trade activities to ensure repair and refurbishment works are completed on time and to a high standard, in line with agreed standard operating procedures. They will take ownership of construction, fault finding, and maintenance repairs, aiming for first-time completion while adhering to budget and time constraints. A professional approach is essential, with the customer experience at the forefront of all interactions, including appearance, use of company ID, vehicle condition, and compliance with Health & Safety standards. The role requires the use of a handheld device (PDA) to process all work-related activities, such as worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence, van stock management, and risk assessments. Company assets must be maintained in good condition, and any damage reported promptly. The candidate will also be responsible for sourcing materials as needed, attending meetings, and training sessions, and participating in out-of-hours call-out cover when required to ensure service continuity and customer satisfaction.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
