This contract provides a 24-hour emergency repair service. This post offers the opportunity to participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota, which can potentially boost earnings by approximately £10k per annum, based on one week out of a four-week rota. Participation is optional and not mandatory.
About the role
We are looking for experienced Multi Skilled Operative to join our repairs and maintenance team in Eastbourne/Lewes . Working with home first on a variety of residential works, working in occupied, void properties and communal areas, our team produce work to the highest standards and deliver outstanding customer service.
A UPVC windows and doors fitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of UPVC units, including measuring and preparing openings, removing old fittings, and fitting new frames to ensure proper alignment, insulation, and security. Duties also include sealing joints, fitting locks and handles, and ensuring all components function correctly, while adhering to health and safety standards and maintaining a professional appearance. the ability to carry out additional trade tasks to support timely and high-quality repair or refurbishment works. Fitters are expected to take ownership of construction, fault-finding, and maintenance tasks, aiming for first-time completion within budget and time constraints. They must prioritise customer experience, communicate professionally with all stakeholders. All work activities are processed electronically using a handheld device, including documentation, stock control, and reporting. Fitters must maintain company assets, manage materials in line with procedures, attend meetings and training, and participate in emergency call-out cover when needed to ensure service continuity and customer satisfaction.
Key Criteria;
All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
