Mears is a leading provider of housing and care solutions across the UK, working with public and private sector clients to bring their placemaking ambitions to life. With 5,500+ employees, we’re expanding and winning new contracts – and we need a talented Bid Manager to help drive our success.
The Role
As a Bid Manager, you’ll report to the Head of Bid Management and work closely with our Planned/Project Works division. You’ll take the lead on high-quality bid submissions, ensuring we deliver compelling, customer-focused proposals that win business.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Lead and manage the end-to-end bid process, from decision-making to submission.
✅ Work collaboratively across teams to develop strategic, well-structured proposals.
✅ Ensure tenders are clear, concise, and aligned with client requirements for maximum scoring potential.
✅ Write and review high-quality responses that convey operational, technical, and commercial solutions.
✅ Manage multiple bids simultaneously, maintaining quality under tight deadlines.
✅ Support and update Document Management and CRM systems.
What We’re Looking For/Role Criteria:
✔ Experience in planned works/capital projects – essential.
✔ A proven track record of successfully managing bids.
✔ Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals.
✔ Project management expertise, able to work independently and under pressure.
✔ Competency in MS Office and knowledge of bid management systems.
✔ Ideally, educated to degree level.
✔ Experience in social housing or a similar sector is a plus.
