💼 Permanent

🕛 Full Time – 08.30-17.00
💷 Salary – £26,000

💥 Be the spark behind tomorrow’s talent 💥

At Mears Group, we don’t just recruit — we grow futures. That’s why we’re launching a brand-new role that puts you at the heart of our Early Careers journey. As our Apprentice Programme Administrator, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our apprenticeship programmes — helping build careers, change lives, and drive real impact.

🔍 What You’ll Do

As the engine behind our Early Careers programmes, you’ll work across the business to make things happen — from data input to event coordination, from system administration to apprentice support. Your work will connect branches, colleges, candidates, and mentors, ensuring every apprentice has the best possible experience.

About the role:

  • Coordinate programme requests by gathering key info, booking places, and working with branches, HR, and training providers.
  • Administer and manage documentation through systems like Workday and the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) — ensuring everything is compliant, consistent, and audit-ready.
  • Support apprentices and trainees from the start — registering candidates, allocating mentors, and ensuring smooth onboarding.
  • Monitor progress and satisfaction by following up on reviews, completions, and learner feedback — helping us continuously improve.
  •  Be the key communication point between our Early Careers Manager, mentors, managers, providers, and funding bodies.
  • Bring events to life, including Group Inductions, Welcome Days, Graduation Ceremonies, and apprentice networking events.
  • Escalate issues smartly and proactively suggest improvements to our processes, systems, or service.

Role Criteria:

You’ll be proactive, detail-oriented, and people-focused — a natural organiser with a passion for helping others succeed.

Essential

  • Solid general education, including Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced admin role, ideally within HR, L&D, or a people-focused team
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using digital platforms
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • A calm, professional, customer-focused approach — even when juggling multiple deadlines
  • A commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and continuous improvement

🌟 Desirable (But Not Deal-Breaking!)

  • CIPD Level 3 or willingness to work towards it
  • Experience using Workday or ServiceNow
  • Understanding of Government funding rules, GDPR, British Values, and PREVENT
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship frameworks or the education sector

🧠 What You’ll Get

  • A role that’s fresh, fast-moving, and full of purpose
  • Opportunities to influence how we shape and grow our Early Careers offer
  • The chance to work with people who care about making a difference
  • Training and support to develop your own career path
  • A values-driven business with a people-first culture
