We’re looking for an experienced Fencer / Ground Worker to join our team in Coatbridge, helping us deliver excellent repairs and refurbishment works on social housing properties. If you have strong fencing skills, experience with timber fencing, and enjoy hands-on outdoor work, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role:

You will be part of a local team undertaking high standard Groundwork repairs and refurbishments to Timber fencing on our Housing properties, delivering best in class customer service and satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards.

The successful candidate will be completing new fencing, refurbishments of fencing, stripping out old fencing and all involved within that to our social housing properties.

You must have fencer experience and be physically fit to complete this role, you must have experience of using nail guns, cordless drills, hydraulic breakers.

Your work will support high safety and quality standards, while ensuring tenants receive outstanding service.

Key Criteria:

  • Proven Fencing experience – ideally in social housing or similar environments
  • Comfortable using tools such as nail guns, cordless drills, and hydraulic breakers
  • A team player with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weathers
  • Full UK driving licence (required to drive a company van)

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.


Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.
