Ledger Clerk
Location: Gloucester
Contract: Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm
Salary: £27,645.19 per annum plus benefits
We are looking for a Ledger Clerk to join our busy and vibrant Accounts team based at our Gloucester office. This is a full time; permanent opportunity suited to a self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast paced finance function and is confident managing a varied workload.
You will support the purchase ledger function by handling a high volume of invoices and queries while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business. The role requires strong organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.

About the Role:
You will be responsible for supporting the purchase ledger and wider finance team, ensuring invoices and queries are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Answering phone queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders
Inputting a high volume of supplier invoices with speed and accuracy
Managing central finance inboxes
Opening and processing post
Querying and resolving invoice and supplier issues
Investigating and resolving supplier queries
Maintaining the purchase ledger
Data entry and statement reconciliation
Working collaboratively with other departments
Supporting ad hoc finance tasks as required
Key Criteria:
Previous experience in a customer service or administration role with confidence handling telephone and e-mail queries in a high volume environment
Strong IT and database skills in Microsoft Office
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Confident communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships
Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively
Accounts or ledger experience is advantageous but not essential
Experience using spreadsheets for data entry or reconciliation is desirable
AAT qualification is desirable
