MPS has been looking after residents’ homes for over 25 years. As part of the Mears Group, we focus on estate management and property maintenance, delivering tailored solutions that support people and communities.
We provide a wide range of services; including responsive repairs, planned works, and cyclical maintenance to over 100 local authorities and housing providers across the UK. One of our key partners is Orbit, a major housing provider in the Midlands, East Anglia, and the South East, managing over 45,000 homes.
Together, MPS and Orbit ensure residents receive timely, high-quality repairs and maintenance, with a strong emphasis on customer care, safety, and long-term value.
About the role:
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Multi‑Skilled Operative to join our team, supporting a busy emergency and responsive repairs contract in Tonbridge. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role where you’ll be first on site for urgent repairs, making homes safe, secure, and habitable for residents when it matters most.
You’ll be attending emergency and priority call‑outs across occupied properties, responding to issues such as leaks, security breaches, damaged doors, and other repairs that require immediate action. Working across multiple trades, you’ll be expected to diagnose problems quickly, carry out effective “make safe” works, and complete high‑quality permanent repairs where possible.
No two days are the same, and this role suits someone who thrives under pressure, can work independently, and takes pride in delivering a responsive, resident‑focused service. With a strong pipeline of work and a commitment to improving social housing standards, this is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team making a real difference in the community.
