Working Supervisor

Glasgow

Full Time, Permanent, 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary between £37,000 and £39,000 per annum depending on experience, plus, company van & fuel card

Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.

About the Role:

Due to contract expansion, we are looking at recruiting a Supervisor to join our team here in Glasgow .You will be part of a local team supporting the supervision activities and requirements of our Housing operations, ensuring all supervisory procedures are being undertaken efficiently in compliance with Company operating procedures, deliver best in class customer service, whilst satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards relating to budget, profitability and resource deployment. The main role will be to over see the repairs and maintenance contract, checking in on subcontractors and inspections of void properties.

Role Criteria:

  • Strong knowledge of repairs and maintenance
  • Ability to carry out tasks like lock changes, measuring of glass, measuring of room sizes
  • Very good problem solver
  • Willing and happy to travel
  • Full UK driving license
  • Excellent communication skills

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.

As part of the recruitment process for this role, we will carry out a DBS & BPSS check, as well as Security Clearance. For these checks to be completed, we will require from you the relevant identification, including Proof of Address, References, a valid passport and proof that you have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
