Infrastructure Engineer

This is primarily a remote, full-time, permanent position with a salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience.

Due to internal promotion, we are seeking to recruit an experienced and friendly Infrastructure Engineer to join our already dedicated team.

Mears are a market leader in providing housing services to the affordable housing sector, and a major presence in the housing with care market. Mears Group’s vision is to make a positive difference to the people we serve by improving homes, improving communities and improving lives. We do this by developing outstanding partnerships with employees, clients, tenants, customers, their families and the wider community. We are looking for people who can help us deliver on our values, fulfil our future ambitions and their own.

About the role:

As an Infrastructure Engineer your responsibilities will include maintaining all aspects of the infrastructure, including VMWare, SANs, virtual servers, RDS, Active Directory, and Exchange. The primary focus of this role is to monitor, maintain and continually improve the reliability and usability of the services provided to the users relating to the physical and virtual infrastructure.

This role will focus heavily on Active Directory, and we are particularly interested in candidates with current experience working with Active Directory and group policy management.

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

Role Criteria:

  • Provide high quality IT support to customers.
  • Qualify, investigate, and resolve IT issues and requests in line with agreed Service Levels.
  • Ensure that any changes made to systems are performed in line with agreed Change Management processes.
  • Be an escalation point for anything related to Server/SAN infrastructure.
  • Identify trends or areas for improvement and implement a solution in line with best practice ensuring a high level of security is provided.
  • Maintaining/Improving security posture by ensuring patches and vulnerabilities are resolved.
  • Adopt a professional manner when communicating with customers to build and maintain a positive view of Mears Group.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
