📍 Location: Coatbridge
💰 Salary: Up to £37,513.29, plus Company Vehicle and Great Company Benefits
💼 Full Time, Permanent role 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday 08.00-16.30

About the Role:

As a Scaffold Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe planning and execution of all work at height activities, focusing on scaffolding safety.

A Scaffold Inspector plays a crucial role in construction projects, ensuring that scaffolding structures are safely erected, secure and dismantled.

This role is specifically targeted at the safety of each scaffolding units that are erected.

You will be tasks with the following:

Pre-Inspection Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of housing properties and public buildings to determine the appropriate working at height method (e.g., scaffolding, rope access, ladders).

Scaffold Handovers: Sign off on scaffolding handovers, ensuring that all health and safety criteria are met and that scaffolds are correctly erected, secure, and safe for use.

7-Day Scaffold Inspections: Perform regular inspections of scaffolds every 7 days to ensure they remain structurally sound and compliant with safety regulations. Address any issues that arise to minimize risk to workers.

Safety Compliance: Work closely with site managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to safety standards and the Work at Height Regulations 2005 (or relevant local regulations).

Role Criteria:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with site teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • IT literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot potential hazards or defects in scaffolding structures before they pose a risk.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues or concerns related to scaffolding safety, offering practical solutions to minimize risks.
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and safety across projects.
  • Self-motivation and initiative, able to work independently and make safety-driven decisions.
  • A Full UK driver's licence to travel between sites as required
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, particularly those related to work at height and scaffolding, ensuring compliance at all times.
