Business Support Apprentice

Enfield – office based

Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 18-month fixed term contract

Salary:

16yrs – 17yrs: £7.71ph

Over 18yrs: £10.71ph

Over 21yrs: £12.21ph

About the role

During your apprenticeship within the Enfield branch, you will be part of the Housing and Welfare team. The main duties will be supporting the team with general administration role. To listen, observe and participate in a range of tasks which will enable you gain new skills and knowledge that contribute to the successful achievement of the apprenticeship programme. The main duties will include:

  • Reception duties
  • Meeting and greeting clients and visitors
  • Production of visitor passes and reception security
  • Post room duties such as dealing with incoming and outgoing mail and parcels.
  • Order, distribute and maintain stationery stock levels.
  • Carry out any ad-hoc administration duties plus printing, binding and laminating of documents that is required by the business
  • Booking rooms, keeping room set ups ready and preparation of multi media equipment. 
  • Ensuring office compliance by arranging any annual compliance testing that is required. Ensuring documentation is in date and working with building landlord to allow access to offices as needed
  • Carrying out AIRE team tasks as requested.

Role Criteria:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in both Math’s and English
  • Organised, reliable and adaptable
  • A strong work ethic
  • Honest / trustworthy and demonstrate the ability to work using own initiative as well as working as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and the ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Capacity to absorb new information quickly and accurately.
  • Self –motivated, self-disciplined and enthusiastic
  • Attention to detail.
  • Confidence to manage issues with other stakeholders to maintain the smooth running of the office environment

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

As part of the recruitment process for this role, we will carry out a DBS & BPSS check, as well as Security Clearance. For these checks to be completed, we will require from you the relevant identification, including Proof of Address, References, a valid passport and proof that you have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
