Full Time, Permanent Up to £34,650 Per annum, company van & fuel card.
This contract provides a 24-hour Housing repair service. This post offers the opportunity to participate in additional hours, which can potentially boost earnings by approximately £5k per annum, based on weekend work or call out if suitably skilled in other areas of construction. Participation is optional and not mandatory.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chargehand to join our local team, playing a key role in both hands on trade work and high-quality supervisory duties related to repairs and refurbishment works in housing properties. This role involves ensuring that all supervisory responsibilities are carried out efficiently and in line with company procedures, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost control. The successful candidate will also deliver exceptional customer service at every stage of the process. You will be working in a practical trade capacity, so experience across multiple trades is essential, along with a willingness to learn new skills while on the job. In addition, you will support supervisors with scaffold sign-offs, ladder inspections, health and safety checks, and provide general on-site assistance to operatives.
Key Criteria:
All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.
