Continuous Improvement Manager (Repairs Manager)

Salary up to £40,537.99 per annum

Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Celtic Horizons was the first wholly owned subsidiary of its kind formed by United Welsh who have entered into a partnership with Mears Group. Celtic Horizons care for over 6500 properties spanning over 11 local authority areas in South Wales.

About the Role:

As a Continuous Improvement Manager within our Caerphilly branch, you will be responsible for day-to-day management and delivery of our responsive repair service in the Cardiff location. Responsible for meeting all Key Performance indicators and delivery of innovation and continuous improvement within the areas of responsibility.  There is a responsibility for operatives and subcontractors.

  • To monitor and control all work undertaken within either a geographical or property type contract area undertaking pre and post inspection as required
  • To mentor Operatives and Trainees ensuring all Health & Safety guidelines are met.
  • To monitor progress and completion of works from the Operatives and Sub Contractors within the requirements of the term briefs.
  • To manage the use of Operatives and Sub Contractors, ensuring that they comply with Company standards of work performance, customer service and Health & safety procedures.
  • Management of Operatives and Sub Contractors so as to maximise contract performance against KPI’s, minimise default notices and penalties and to ensure high levels of customer service so as to achieve contract value.    

Role Criteria:

  • Experience of working in Social Housing
  • Experience of supervising Operatives and Subcontractors
  • Knowledge of Repairs Maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • People management skills
  • Negotiating skills
  • Trade, management or health and Safety qualification would be desirable

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
