About the Role:
As a plasterer, you’ll be responsible for completing one or more job’s per day to a consistently high standard, following agreed procedures and health and safety guidelines. Your day-to-day tasks will include preparing surfaces by cleaning and priming them, applying bonding agents, and fitting dry lining or plasterboard where needed. You’ll mix all plaster using cement-based materials and apply it with a trowel, ensuring a smooth, even finish before adding a protective coating. You’ll also carry out restoration work on old or damaged plaster, carefully matching existing textures and finishes. A certified core trade qualification supports your ability to deliver repair and refurbishment works efficiently and to a professional standard. You’ll take ownership of construction, fault-finding, and maintenance tasks, aiming for first-time completion within budget and time constraints. Customer experience is central to the role, so maintaining a professional appearance, carrying company ID, and ensuring vehicles are clean and presentable is essential. You may also be asked to gather customer feedback upon completion of works. All job-related activities are processed electronically using a handheld PDA, including timesheets, photographic evidence, van stock management, leave requests, vehicle checks, safeguarding concerns, and risk assessments. You’ll be expected to keep all company assets in good condition and report any damage promptly. Materials should be used from existing stock or collected as needed, in line with purchasing and stock control procedures. Attendance at meetings and training sessions is required, and you may also be asked to participate in out-of-hours call-out cover to support emergency repairs and maintain service user satisfaction.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
